Our THRIVE team are looking for motivated Lifestyle Assistant to join their vibrant and ever-growing team. THRIVE is an evidence-based program developed by a counsellor that provides tools for individuals to live their best life. This program is about increasing positive emotions through therapies such as psychotherapies and counselling. The focus of the THRIVE program is to help clients gain choice, control, and self-determination to achieve motivation which result in better mental health and well-being.

A day in the life of a therapeutic assistant looks like this:

  • Applying a person-centred approach to assist with the prescribed programs, tasks, schedules, and self-care activities for each client, to encourage autonomous living.
  • Some aspects of the above care may include some medication, continence and seizure management
  • Respect and understanding of confidentiality when engaging with clients and relevant sensitive information.
  • Responsible for delivering engaging lifestyle programs to support the social and physical wellbeing of our clients.
  • Promoting and maintaining engagement that is positive and meaningful.
  • Assistance with decision making including daily planning, budgeting, making reasonable and safe decisions to promote a positive effect.
  • Community engagement and inclusion. Providing opportunities for clients to engage in local and extended communities to gain self-satisfaction and a feeling of being a valued member of the community.
  • Proactively provide information regarding change in client circumstances to relevant parties and ensure clear communication is provided to team members to ensure consistency of care is maintained.

 

Minimum requirements:

  • First Aid
  • Manual Handling
  • DHS Disability Clearance or NDIS Workers Check
  • Working with Children’s Check
  • Unrestricted driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
  • A positive and proactive attitude
  • COVID19 Vaccination
  • 'Through their eyes' training and experience working with children preferred
